How We Learn The English Language

Writer and Srd.Rosman Ibrahim

We might stumble upon any languanges which is not ours.

Very single human in this universe would agree to it.Since English was our media of instruction at school there were hilarious moment when one uses English among us.From various mixed back ground,we blend together learning and conversed it that language with various slang, accent according to our limited vocabulary.I remember the form teacher of the Remove Class,(its a class meant for the guys from the Malay medium transfered to the English medium before the student is absorbed in the normal classes after a year intensive English),I cant precisely remember the teachers name but he introduced a fine system among the student, whom wew caught specking Malay instead of English in class.
Could imagine the amount of fine the monitor collected from the offender.......

Some specks with confident despite a few draw back in grammer and obviously he hails from the small town.Manglish, you knowlah what I mean.

Some stumble with only a word of 'yes' or 'no' all the way during his entire schooling life.
Yes..we do have a story, it befall to my budding buddy, Class and Hostel mate. From Masjid Tanah,Kg.Durian Daun if I am not mistaken.Last met him at my office AMEB in 1993.
Bless the soul of my beloved friend Allahyarham Srd.Annuar Bin Johari.- Al-Fatihah.

With his genuine smile and only a 'yes' or yes-yes-yes.....sir or no..no...no sir, will land us a few stiches in class but he has a golden heart.
Petit and stout in size 'Annor Joe' as he is passionately known among us.An avid footballer.
He facies himself playing like the late Allayarham Mokhtar Dahari our 'Super Mok'
Yet he strive the urban wave after MCE 76' and was attached to DBKL right away after school till his last breath.May Allah shows mercy on his great soul.Amin.

I wrote something worth reading about how we guys master the language. This one for you Nurad sir. Here's the link and itS call 'Old Vintage Wine' .

Enjoy it while it last.
